In the Home: If I could splurge....

I've always been a fan of home design shows like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition or pretty much anything on HGTV since I was little. This is where I get ideas of how I'm going to design my own home when I'm ready to buy. I love home improvement, designing, decorating both indoor and outdoor living space. My all-time favorite interior designer is Sabrina Soto who is the host on "The High/Low Project," "Real Estate Intervention" and "Get it Sold" (btw this show is all about home staging-my favorite show at this moment). Her work is amazing!

If a million dollars flew my way, I would splurge it on the master bathroom. From what I've learned, the bathrooms and the kitchen are selling points in the home and updating these rooms would give you the greatest equity on your house. Here are some of my favorite bathrooms that inspires me:

I love the isolated tub for some reason. My eyes goes start to it!
Very tranquil and peaceful. It has an Asian touch to it. I love the limestone.
This is a modern bathroom that flows well together. I love the natural light that comes into the room.
I love the sinks and mirrors. What's striking is the tiny tiles they use for the walls. So classy!
I love glass showers because they look so clean and it definitely opens up the bathroom.
How inviting does the tub look?

This is luxury right here! I love the checkerboard floor and how spacious this bathroom is.
My eyes totally went to the marble clear glass wall that created a nice light for the room.

This one reminded me of the Vegas style suite bathrooms for some reason. They always use this layout. None the less, I love it!
This bathroom looks so relaxing with a simple touch.

Which one is your fav?

3 months it is!

This was the first time I had put Eden in a walker. I was hesitant to do so because I felt she was still too young to support her entire weight without assistance but it was my mom who insisted I do so. I was so surprised that she did well in the walker. Though she can't travel around the room just yet, she was able to stand on her own and pretty much ballet on her little footsies. She was distracted with all the toys and loves the sound they make especially the rattle. She's getting bigger and pretty soon she'll be walking. Eden's only 3 months and I have a feeling that she's going to be walking in a few months. She's definitely motivated and wants to move. I'm so proud of her. Happy 3 Months my darling!

Babies at Play!

Eden had her first "unofficial play date" today with Anthony, the son of my good friend from high school. Since Eden's still a bit young to play with toys, the play date consisted of Anthony playing and crawling around the living room while she sits on her rocker watching him like a hawk. I enjoy seeing babies interact with each other because they're so curious about everything. I can't believe that Anthony grew so much. I saw this kid when he was only a week old when I made the trip up to Davis to see Alicia. I even remember feeding him a bottle and now 11 months later, he's gotten SOO BIG! They seriously grow up so fast.

Play dates are fun especially for the moms who finally get to see another human being who truly understands what they're going through. She pretty much gone through everything I'm going through right now and totally understands where I'm coming from. I love Alicia for that reason. In fact, Alicia is a working mother raising Anthony for the most part, by herself and decided to go back to UC Santa Cruz to finish her Bachelors. She starts school next week already! Yikes! But I adore her for that. I don't know what it is but I love it when mothers decide to go back to school. It's definitely hard to go back when you're raising a child because you're constantly thinking about finances, who's going to watch the baby, and everything else that comes with it. Alicia, you're my inspiration!

I was lucky to have Alicia swing by today because I was in dire need of a friend. I needed to vent and have someone hear me out and Alicia was a great help. Transitioning to being a stay at home mother has been so difficult for me since I'm the type of person who is always on the go (i.e. working, running errands, school, etc). But now, I chose to be a stay at home mother because Eden is still pretty young. My task are taking care of Eden (which I LOVE) and basically take care of the household while my family is at work. It's actually hard work because I'm by myself at home feeding her, changing diapers, reading to her, playing with her along with keeping up with the house cleaning (i.e. sweep, mop, cleaning the kitchen, living room, baby's room, laundry, and the list goes on...). It's HARD WORK! My pet peeve is when someone says that, "Why are you sooo tired? You're at home playing with the baby? or my all-time fav, "Well, all you do is stare at her because nothing in the house gets done." My response: "Yes, I don't let my eyes off her for 8 hours while everyone is at work because I don't have a list of things to do...are you crazy?" Sometimes I just want to punch them in the face when they say stupid stuff like that! I asked Alicia, tell me I'm normal that I think that it's the hardest job? She just laughed and told me that it is really difficult and they won't understand it until they're in your shoe. What I learned is that being stay at home mothers is one of the hardest occupation and I give those who are crops! Some people are made to be stay at home mothers and others are not. It really depends on the person. As for me, if all it really consist of me "staring" at Baby Eden for 8 hours, please sign me up! I'll do it!!!!!

It's the little things in life....

Can you say "Perfect Day"!!!!!!

I cannot believe this but Eden had one of her perfect days. She was just amazing today and I never thought I would ever get one of those days. Eden didn't shed a tear or wailed today considering that she has all reason to do so. She's teething right now and it's so painful for her. I didn't think she would be teething so soon since most babies begin teething at about four months. She's a bit early. Signs that I knew she was teething was she was constantly drooling excessively, sucking on her hand, and wailing. Yesterday was a different story. She cried on the top of her lungs and started shrieking. We couldn't do anything to calm her so we sat her in the rocker and stared at her crying. It broke my heart watching her. Today she did a 180 and was great! I'm wishing for more days like this but I'll take whatever I can get.
